Northern Ireland is very easy to travel to.  You can fly into Northern Ireland, take the train from Dublin or take a ferry from the UK mainland.

Airports

Northern Ireland has three large airports:

1.  George Best City Airport - this is only three miles from Belfast city centre and is by far the easiest way to get to Belfast if you are flying.  There are bus connections that leave the airport into the city centre at least every 30 minutes; the journey is a short one and can be as little as 10 minutes into the heart of the city.  Bus fares are relatively inexpensive at around approximately £1.50. LINK to METRO  There is also a short stay car park if you are being picked up by relatives where the first 15 minutes parking is free.

While this option is typically the easiest for access to Belfast city centre, the airport is not an international airport; the airport is only allowed to have 48,000 flights per year.  If you are flying from the UK, you can get a flight directly to the George Best Belfast City Airport from most UK airports.  If you are flying from North America, you will have to fly into either the Belfast International Airport or another UK airport (potentially London, England) or a Republic of Ireland airport (Dublin, Ireland).

All of your travel amenities are included at George Best Belfast City Airport.  For information on car hire please see LINK car hire.

2.  Belfast International Airport - The Belfast International Airport is a thriving modern airport offering scheduled and chartered flights to and from destinations all over the world..  This airport is approximately 20 miles from Belfast city centre and is connected by a good route of buses and taxis.  There is a 24 hour airport bus service (Airport Express 300) that leaves at least every hour from outside the international airport however the frequency of this service is every 15 minutes during peak times Monday through Friday.  The cost of this service is £7 one-way or £10 return.  Journey times are typically 30-40 minutes although this will depend heavily on traffic.

3.  City of Derry Airport -
